The Australian Eurasian Association of Western Australia (AEAWA) was formed in 1989.

It was originally known as the Eurasian Club of WA, with the objective of promoting social activities and goodwill among migrants from mixed Asian and European ancestry, many of whom originated from Singapore and Malaysia.

Membership is now open to all members of the wider community, no matter what cultural background or country of origin.
  • the preservation of the unique heritage and traditions of the Eurasian Community;
  • the promotion of social and recreational activities for its members and the wider community;
  • the encouragement of interaction and cooperation with other community organizations with similar interests; and
  • the commemoration of the memory of two notable past members by awarding a monetary prize to a young member for further study and achievement in the Arts and Sport.

The AEAWA’s activities are organised by a number of very active sub-committees; Seniors, Functions, Catering and Younger Members. The Association’s functions including its monthly luncheons and quarterly dances are so well attended that at times there are waiting lists for tickets.

The monthly newsletter (Extracts can be found on this site), is the Association’s main form of communication to its members and includes much awaited information such as the menu for the monthly luncheon! The members do the catering themselves, often preparing specialty dishes from their rich cultural Asian and European culinary heritage.

Our monthly Newsletters are now available at See all the news in detail.
